Commission Statement

A commission statement is a report from a carrier or agency listing what an agent was paid, advanced, or charged back in a period. It is the record agents use to check their pay.

Why it matters

A statement shows policy numbers, premiums, rates, advances, and chargebacks. Agents should review each one for errors and keep copies for taxes. If a number looks wrong, contact the carrier or upline promptly, as dispute windows can be short. Do not wait until year end. Keeping organized statements also helps your accountant at tax time.
