Compensation

Persistency Bonus

A persistency bonus is extra pay for an agent whose policies stay in force at or above a target rate. It rewards quality sales that do not lapse early.

Why it matters

Carriers set the target and measurement period, often tied to the 13th month. Agents improve results by confirming affordability and following up after delivery. Rules and amounts differ by carrier. Programs vary, and a bonus may be reduced if the lapse rate rises. Ask for the table of rates and the date it was last updated.
