Street Level

Street level is the base commission rate a carrier pays to an agent contracted directly with no extra contract uplift. It is the entry tier on the commission schedule.

Why it matters

Agents often start at street level, then move up through an upline or by meeting production goals. The difference between street level and a higher level is the amount that can be shared as an override. Exact terms vary by carrier, so request the schedule. Telesales agents should ask early which level they will start at and how they can move up.
