MVR (Motor Vehicle Report) (MVR)

A motor vehicle report is a record of a person's driving history, including violations, accidents, and license status. Life insurance carriers may review it to judge risk.

Why it matters

Driving under the influence, many speeding tickets, or a suspended license can lead to a higher rate or a decline. Not every carrier checks it, and it matters more for larger policies. Driving record rules vary by state, and consumer reports fall under the Fair Credit Reporting Act. Answer driving questions honestly.
