Sales and lead terms

Inbound Call

An inbound call is a phone call that a consumer or prospect starts to a business. In life insurance sales, it usually means the person called in after seeing an ad, a mailer, or an online form.

Why it matters

Inbound calls matter because the caller asked for contact. That often makes the talk easier and the caller more open to a quote. Agents on inbound calls still follow carrier rules, state licensing rules, and call recording laws. Families should know that an inbound call does not remove their right to ask questions or decline. Agents should note that lead quality, cost, and call volume vary by vendor, so results differ from one program to the next.
